I bought a Karcher 1402 about 6 months ago to clean oven.
Its the best bit of cleaning kit we have ever bought..great for bathroom tiles/floors...cleans oven and hob like new and also found it brought my diff and rear suspension area up a treat, but have not used around engine yet.
I read quite a bit on them before buying and the better ones don,t run out of water half way through job as can be topped up while still working so avoids continuos start ups.
The Karcher type do seem to bit the pricest though.!!

No they wont.

I used to have a diesel/parafin Steam cleaner for valeting, I slso have the Wickes wallpaper steamer, and sadly have one of the kettle style ones.

The kettle ones are good enough for fridge seals, cookers seal etc and have minimal water res and rely on nozzle pressure to do the work.

The wallpaper ones stand a better chance and once heated up they keep going quite a while.

Neither compare to a purpose built steam cleam, and the home jet washers do not campare with these either.
