Thing is Gaffers I have had lots of penicillin without any problems. Used to have it injected into my leg most days many years ago - hurt like  buggery and turns your poo jet Black :y ;D
My last course was only about 4 months ago, but I have never had this brand before-Amoxicillin :-/

Have you tried that then, well you seem to be able to give a comparison, was it anyone from the forum........... ::)

Bet he has had DLK, whilst fixing his car.............. :-X

Big spoon or little? :o :-X

Expressed a similar observation to my GP and he made the point that the immune system generates antibodies against substances that it is exposed to. Makes sense, I suppose.

Kevin

I agree, it would appear that my alergy was developed in the womb as my mum was given a course on pen when she was about 7 months preggers with me.  They also say that your second exposure to pen will cause a reaction but mine was like yours, very severe.

You could also be alergic to a part of the medicine which is not penicillin.  Any part of the pill could also have caused it, I have heard of an allergy to Calcium carbonate before which sucks for him  ;D

Unfortunately, testing for pen allergy is off the books.  No doc will take the risk as I have wanted to be tested so many times.  But you can get tested with a scratch test and see what happens  :y

I hope you can get a suitable replacement for the Amoxicillin and recover fully.

Scary but +1 for Mrs Albs :y
