No TV signal
« on: 13 May 2010, 21:17:25 »

Our transmitter at Oxford caught fire earlier today.

Not a major issue in itself, as rarely watch anything live, but the media center is going radio rental, non stop pop-ups about unable to record due to no TV signal.

Good job they are all her programmes that are failing to record ;D

Not that you'd notice, what with Sky+'s frequent inability to record whole programmes :P

Our daughter rang earlier, she's having the same problem. She's on the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire border.

Yeah, all services from the mains transmitter are off.  Alledgedly fire service has suggested that it may be susceptable to collapse - though that may be local media trying to sensationalise....

I wondered what happened, it went off at about 2.30 I think. I've been out this afternoon and evening, and it came back on at 9.05 just in time to watch Have I got news for you.
So it's back working here.

No, surely not..... ::)

My favourite 'BBC Wales Today' pejorative news quote: "We`re going live to the scene; just how bad is the chaos, Matt?"  ;D

I have add to add 2 mins front and end to try get full recordings and it still cant get it right, this sky system should be better than video plus.  Plenty of room for improvement.

unplug it for 30 seconds, first sign of trouble on ours is it looses the red button logo.

Gonna be fun when the analouge signal is turned off, it's going to be like the 50's where every one gathers round to watch the radio.

Only had Shy HD 11 months had 3 losses of singnal allready, one was overnight.
