Mobile Phone Hacked - Or is it
« on: 13 May 2010, 23:54:41 »

Few weeks ago, Neighber came round for a chat, Her mobile phone beeped as if the phone was about to go flat, she pointed out her hands were not in her pockets, showed me the phone and it was recording (or even transmitting what we were saying)

She reset it and locked it, 2 mins later another beep and yet again showed it to me whilst it was recording.

----------

Now get this one, different phone, she got me to ring her with holding my number, her phone rang, I left a message.  Then she showed me her sim card in her hand and explainded there was no sim card in the phone, and then stripped the phone and proved it.

How can this be.

-----------

Also she still has issues with BT land line, BT not interested as they say line tests allright.

1471 says last phone call was on 7th may, but yet 1571 has 2 recorded messages on the 8th may, phone was never unplugged.

Also she has recorded muffled voices on her answering machine that she believes is the person sossibly hacking her phones/PC etc.

Any one know of any tests or cheap equipment that could possiblt help test or catch whats happeneing here

Would appreciate any advice - Please feel free to PM me.

It is my understanding that it is impossible for a phone to receive a call without the SIM card.  Afterall, it's the SIM which receives the signal.

Some phones have the ability to hold 2 SIM cards.  Even the ancient Nokia 3210 could hold 2 SIMS with a different case.  Only one SIM can be in use at any one time though.  Sure she isn't winding you up?

The only other thing I can think of, is....... does she have some excellent technical knowledge and connecting to a receiver via WiFi or Bluetooth which contains the SIM card?

Seriously matey, this is no wind up, I rang the phone my self.  She had the Sim card in her hand at the time.

Neither was it a wind up regards her other phone turning on record mode x 2, I have challenged her on everything she has/had ever told me, these 2 mobile phone incidents happended in own home.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that you can make an emergency call without a sim card, so the phone must be capable of making and receiving a call without one at least

The house line is a crossed/purposely hacked line BT need to come out to sort it, as for the mobile yes the phone can connect to an emergency number but has no registration for incoming calls without the sim.

I don't know the spec. on 1471 and 1571 but it is quite possible that 1471 only reports calls that didn't get intercepted by 1571.  A simple test would prove how it behaves normally.

Yes you can, I accidently tested that theory trying to set up my new 360 H1, got 999 clear as a whistle, but still cant get rection to set the sim card up.

Apparently all mobiles have to be able too 999 calls with or with out a sim card or credit.

Where did your neighbour acquire this from Skruntie?

Is it secondhand?

If so, could be that the previous owner had their phone "modified" by a third (government??) department. ;) ;)

It seems very odd, and dare I say "spooky", in the Smileys People way!! :D :D :D :)

i dont think thats true... sim cards are just like a Sky card... the ability to receive is there, but nothing saying its a genuine person that has legitimately bought/paid for said item. As far as im aware the Government hav ways of listening to your mobile phones even if it is turned off and without a sim card (only way to stop them is remove the power i.e battery)

Landlines have been known to "cross" connections sometimes resulting in hearing other people etc. As for mobiles, im not sure on it but probably something similar.

My only other suggestion is aliens trying to make contact....... bit far-fetched?  ::)

Brand new phone from tesco, seems all her phones are getting compromised, so she just buys a new phone and new sim, seems they have attached themselves to her family as they sre the only people she uses the mobile for, so as soon as she gets a new setup they seem to be finding out from the numbers she uses.

Sounds scary, but that seems to be what is happening, but what the hell do you do to find out what is happeninging and combat it.
