for those with towbars?or want to try caravaning?
« on: 19 May 2010, 19:30:39 »

Hi Guys,
been kicking a few ideas around and somehow this came up
so let me run it by you its open to all oof members,

Ok at the moment we have 2 caravans in england one in doncastor and one in cornwall, both are in good condition and usually i come across and get them one a t a time to bring here , so would anyone want a almost free holiday by having a touring holiday down to spain towing a caravan? I say almost free as we will pay the tolls should you want to use them and around half your fuel bill, you can take as long as you like after you have informed me that you have started with the object being to leave the caravan here almost at malaga in spain, the other alternative is to use it across france to san sebastion if you dont want to come to spain and we would collect it from you there? details are to be worked out yet but thought i would ask if anyone is interested?

Have been contemplating a summer hol touring down france, into the Ardeche, Pont D'arc, Embrun etc... then down through Andorra into Spain.

If the van is over 750kg I'd have to take my trailer test first - and, I'd want to be able to insure it, in case I rolled the thing over  ;D

thats very sensible but so are you!!! so dont think that would happen!! not sure about the one in cornwall but the one in donny is deff over 750kg, James you wouldbe most welcome to do your tour in one them, as long as it ended up here at the end of your journey, return to the uk it would take you 22hours driving so a hostal or hotel(cheap) would be you best bet, unless you bring a 2.5 omega and sell it to varche for spares for his then you could fly  :yhome!!!

Well I could get either one of them to the person(s) who want to take them on the continental leg of the journey if that's any help.

Ours is down in Cornwall so we go down that way a few times a year and could pick that one up on the return journey if the timing is right.

Sounds like a plan is developing. If someone did have a car for sale, which we might be interested in,(see http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1272239531 for example)  which they could bring Omegatoys caravan down with, then we've got a rental unit and a pool they could use for a short holiday before flying back from Malaga.

Lets face it we could have a mini meet/holiday and change over the engine and gearbox at the same time!!!  ;) ;)   ::) ::)
