Brilliant Gower
« on: 21 May 2010, 19:13:45 »

The caravan's all set up, and the Sethsmates are enjoying a little vacation in 'Britain's first area of outstanding natural beauty'.
 :y

After doing a full four days 'graft' trundling up and down The Valleys, it's now a long-weekend off, so we're taking full advantage of this, and treating the two youngest grandsons (and ourselves) to their first holiday of 2010.
Preparations for the Welland Steam Rally will go into overdrive over the coming weeks, so 'yours truly' will be a very busy boy quite soon now.
 :D

The latest 2.5TD performed faultlessly on it's 'maiden voyage' in towing mode, so it's now time to settle down with a glass or two of Newcastle Brown.
Doctor's advice, you understand!
 ;D

"Wish you were here" fellow OOFers, and have a good 'un!

Thanks for this Debs.

Gower's within an hour's drive for us, and 'the two little fellas' positively love it there too.
 ;)
Going in to Swansea in the morning on the brilliant Park & Ride service - £2.20 all-in.
Will be getting some laver bread and bacon for Sunday breakfast from Wales' biggest indoor market - now there's a real Gower delicacy!
Then we'll look at taking the little fellas for a ride to Carmarthen on one of 'Grampa's trains' - a lovely journey along the shores of Carmarthen Bay.
 :y
On Sunday, we'll probably go to Port Eynon or Rhosilli, on the western extremity of the peninsular.
Fish'n'chips on the beach for dinner - can't fault it eh!

Got back a short while ago ....
An excellent time was had on our favourite site, and the latest tractor performed faultlessly throughout!
 ;D
The weather was so nice that we stayed on-site yesterday, just 'chilling-out' with 'the two little fellas' - that's the youngest third-generation Sethsmates to those not in the know!
 :D
Caswell Bay has to be our favourite Gower beach, but it's best avoided at peak times - seems it's everyone's favourite!
 ;D
Thanks to everyone for their good wishes - much appreciated here!

You had some superb weather.

I'm off to Gowerton in August.

Off to Brockenhurst in the New Forest on Saturday.

Yes, got to admit, the Gower's fantastic, especially Caswell Bay, one of my favourites as well. Used to enjoy a little quiet place called Slade bay as well  but it's a bit of a walk down.
Took the kids down to Aberafan yesterday, used to be full of coal dust when I was a kid but ain't too bad as a day on the beach nowadays  :y ;D

Oh, and fantastic weather at the moment  :y :y

I assume that you'll be staying at the Caravan Club site then, Steve.
New wardens there this season, and standards are even better now, fair play to 'em!

Aye, me too Steve .......
'Twas called 'Miami Beach' and with a splendid 'solar system' facade right across the main entrance.
