I have been trying to find MUD 975 (Lizzie's old Coach) and I sent a few e-mails off and got this reply....

Read your message on the AEC site and remember MUD well. It was sold about the same time as we purchased one of the Dennis coaches from Chiltern Queens about 1982ish if I recall.
The chap who purchased MUD wanted to keep it at one of the preserved railway centres in the South and paint it LMS railway colours. Unfortunately was rumoured at the time that one or more of the railway fraternity took exception to this and poured a bag of sugar into the fuel tank and that was end for MUD.  It then as far as I know vanished forever, or has it?  We purchased another AEC ex C.Q. coach after it was sold at that time only a few years ago, that one lasted so MUD may be around somewhere.

That is interesting news, and neither good nor bad.  I am sure that a group of enthusiats who love old coaches would have cured the sugar problem!  I certainly hope so.
