Terrible tragedy! Of course we had the horrendous shooting of children in Dunblane many years ago. And the drive-by shooting in Hungerford. Don't really know what is happening to this country these past few years.  :'(

Americanisation.
I was looking for a more deeper explanation STMO!! There must be a more psychological explanation to all this? Firearms are not freely available to all and sundry here in this country???? ::) ::)

Why have there been numerous cases of men trying to slaughter nursery children in China? Why did 10 workers commit suicide at a honda plant?
I try not to think too hard........

Dunblane is local to me  and i knew the man who killed those innocent children, His name was Thomas Hamilton

His motive was revenge  on the community as he felt he had been persecuted by the public.
As a child i had attended his club " Dunblane boys club"  until my father found out who was running it  and stopped me going.
The reason my father  gave me was that Thomas Hamilton  had been encouraging young boys to do things like remove their tops on camping trips and had made boys sleep  in his camper van , while he was never charged  with anything it was deemed inappropriate behaviour and with questional  moral intentions and  many parents unhappy with Hamiltons conduct.

Just read that a woman and a man and a child found dead in a house somewhere. What is this country coming to?
I think ALL guns should be banned. Even for farmers, there is no legitimate reason to own one.
Gun clubs, ban them, they serve no purpose.

Have you noticed that so many of these gun rampages are committed by "loners"? I suppose if they were living with close family their behaviour may ring alarm bells before they completely flip.

To me, it's a sign of serious mental breakdown, which is sadly all too prevalent in today's society.  :( :(

Needless to say, I feel for the victims and their families.  :'(

They are already effectively banned from a legal point of view. But, as everyone surely knows, banning does not shut off the supply.  :(

In fact, in 2007, the UK was only ranked 29th in terms of gun ownership per resident. There are a number of countries above us (e.g Germany, Switzerland) that have far more guns yet have not  suffered the same amount of gun crime. The answer to our problems lies elsewhere, I rather feel.

No point banning guns imo.Guns dont kill people, people kill people. If someone is determined to kill, they can use any number of items as a weapon, including a car. ;)
