Torque settings

Could any of you guys advise on the torque setting when fitting a tow bar, now that i have the new caravan i will be re-fitting the Vx detatchable tow bar but need advice on the bolt torque settings.

should i have put this in the help section? if so, apologies to admins.

The destruction sheet for the Westfalia towbar on my car shows the M10 bolts torqued up to 40Nm  :y

Just found something on the web that shows the same settings for M10 but shows 110Nm for the M12s for the Bosal detachable towbar.

Just found something on the web that shows the same settings for M10 but shows 110Nm for the M12s for the Bosal detachable towbar.

Just tighten till you f4rt & then another 1/4 turn then!  ::)  ::) Short of swinging off your 17mm or 19mm spanner with a 3' scaffold pole, you're not really going to overtighten them too much if you just use a bit of common sence when tightening them up. I didn't use a torque wrench when I fitted mine, & I've dragged my caravan al over the UK and some of France with no problems ........ but I do use spanners every most days  :y
