Day off tomorrow but not good.
« on: 06 June 2010, 20:41:45 »

Dentist. I've had a plate, 3 top teeth for about 15 years as the result of weak teeth due to a childhood accident. Over the years it's broken & i've superglued it back together but a recent altercation in Cleethorpes has finished it off. I was'nt on the pop as i don't go on town nights out but at the Festival of motoring showing the Consul in May. As most of know it's an unspoken rule that there is NEVER any trouble at car shows, it's just does'nt happen. Any way late on the Sunday night i was enjoying a tipple with the Americana lads & thier families in thier awning when some bloke who is known to them but not with them staggers in after an evening in the beer tent & is one of those who can't behave after a drink. He started on me because of my southern accent which is fun when you lot & my other mates do it but he was "pushing". The last comment he made was something about southerners & thier Mothers then punched me in the chops!!! I was sitting down in a camping chair & not looking at him. I spat blood, got up & gave him a cracking right to the cheekbone, his feet lifted & he landed half on the table & half on some one's lap! He did'nt get up for anymore. Sadly as you can imagine bottles & cans went everywhere, the table was flattened, me being me was running around apologizing. Luckily they knew him & were really good about it. Next morning this bloke came & apologized but i'm angry with myself for letting the red mist get the better of me @ 47 years of age & the £400 it's about to cost me on the private because i go to work!
He did have a bruise/swelling on his cheek the next morning & my hand was  swollen for a few days!

I'm really sorry that Pratt caused you the grief he did mate, but don't beat yourself up about your 'Red Mist', as in the circumstances I think you handled everything perfectly well  :y

You're forgiven Guy!  :y  :y  :y  :y
Just why do some blokes start on people they don't know, just because they've been on the pop?  :-? ;)

Sorry to hear of this Guy but dont worry about the red mist mate cos it sounds like the £400 was already earmarked before you hit him back anyway.......

First off - i've had a few beers, so may be slow on the uptake
1) he hit you, when you were relaxing with friends and sitting down
2) you hit him back
3) next day he apologised

why are you apoligising ? - you did the right thing

some would have kicked the living sh-one-t out of him,
some would wait and get their revenge cold,
some would get the police involved,
- you acted as a man should - you fought back-  i would be proud & honored to call you a friend- or apoligise if it was me you punched out as an adversary

Big al:- TBH if we were'nt in a friends awning he'd probably got a bit more than he did, the idiot deserved it. No law involved, it was dealt with quick & in house. Besides the police have better things to deal with!
Andy & Paul:- We've sunk a few together as we have with many other OOF members without a hint of trouble, that's what these weekengs away are all about & we'll continue to do so. I was glad i clouted him but dissapointed it happened in the first place...if that makes any sense!
Anyway, the good news is :- went to dentist today (£100) bit the molds, had the x-ray. Went to the receptionist..she was lovely!!!...& was told after 2 more appointments my fitting would be 2 days after the Lakesmeet. :( I turned on the charm (read grovelled) & the fitting is now on the 17th which ironically i already have booked off work to cook the curry beforehand. Total cost £350, better than £400!
If anyone at the Lakes wants a fight could you please ask first so i can put my new teeth in my pocket. Then we can "'ave it"!! :D
