That's not butanone, it's butanal which is an aldehyde.

2-butanone in fact.  Widely available in small glass vials in certain outlets in Soho.....

As for cleaning paint off hands it's great stuff and works a treat.  But you might get a severe beating from the wife if you use all her nail polish remover AND moisturiser....

hi lads i work for the company that makes the stuff and i see what i can do to most materials and trust me you dont add it to anything as it can react and cause all sorts of problems yes it can be used as a cleaner but takes all the moisture out of the skin and can contain benzene which is related to cancer sorry to frighten you all but thats the facts :(

We used to use Acetone to clean off oil and stuff from new coach panels before fitting them, also paintshops use it... stings in cuts too ;D

Not advisable to use on your car mate :y
