We could shoot all the old people......we have about eight million "coffin dodgers" in this country. This would also help reduce the huge debt problem that we currently have

No more free TV licence.....prescriptions.....winter fuel allowance.....  eye tests....and pensions .....I estimate this could save the country about 17 billions each year......not to mention make the roads a lot safer.....and "open up" hospital beds for those that actually contribute to society....rather than take from it and habitually moan... ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)

Easy solutions.

1. Build those cities in Scotland and Wales. They have too much space per capita. If they object tax them on their space. ;D

2. Increase the state pension to a proper figure i.e. in line with the rest of Europe instead of it being the lowest in Europe. Then all the pensioners would be able to leave for warmer more amenable climes (Spain, France, Turkey,Greece) and be a burden on their Health Service thus saving the NHS a fortune and the pension increase be self funding.  :y

But......they already live abroad, and STILL claim their same pension from the state, AND it is paid to their bank abroad too!!

That's right have a go at the old age pensioners who have at least contributed to this country in their life-time & deserve to be repaid! No have a go at our beloved Governments who have opened the flood gates to all & sundry then have the audacity to complain  >:(......

This famous quotation says it all :-

“In England we have come to rely upon a comfortable time-lag of fifty years or a century intervening between the perception that something ought to be done and a serious attempt to do it.”

H. G. Wells

Ok rant over, i think i will be chastised  :-X :-X :-X  ;D ;D

Some live abroad, the majority don't. Regardless of where you choose to live, the State pension has been earned (mostly by 40 years of graft and taxation. The point was the increase to the pension would be offset by other countries bearing the cost of their healthcare. When people live longer they still need healthcare (and more of it).

we'll need millions more people to pay taxes for the baby-boomer generation of the 60's when we all come to retire  :y

and remember - we've proved to be selfish, wasteful and greedy - younger people won't have that option  ;D ;D ;D

suckers  ;)

No chastisemant....I agree wholeheartedly. :y ;)
I have done 50 years hard graft....no overtime rates in the early days, 7 days a week at times, no holiday pay, not as many Bank Holidays.....
Remember the Graduated Pensions we paid...every £7 we paid in gets us two and a half pence a week...fantastic deal that one !!!!!! >:( >:(
This country owes us big time....as it will SOME of the younger generation following us :y
