Brazil were awarded it "for keeps" after they won it 3 times, the original trophy was kept at the Brazilian FA headquarters and placed in a cabinet with missile proof glass at the front.....unfortunately the wooden back was prised off by thieves and stolen in 1982.......it's never been recovered (probably melted down for the gold), Brazil were given a replica

The best world cup team of all time .......in my view. They destroyed Italy 4-1 in the final if memory serves. A lesson in how attacking flair (Brazil)...is always better to watch than defensive strength (Italy)

I was only ten at the time......but what a great game.......

I was too young to remember 1970 final.....first final I recall is the 1978 Argentina vs Netherlands....all that colour.....all that ticker tape....amazing looking spectacle - if Im honest I remember few of the details...I know the Argies won 3-1?
