It used to be great, but has sadly declined in popularity since it became highly regulated. Still of interest to the enthusiasts of course.

I went there once when the Porsche 917s et al were racing. Great spectacle and super atmosphere. :y

Those were the days.  ;)

Hmm. Wishing I was there, but wouldn't be the same without the Westfield of chassis bentness. :'(

I went 13 years ago and it was the dogs twitcher, before they put the chicanes in on the long straight. I remember watching the cars coming into Arnage at night with the discs glowing red hot. I would love to go again :'(

Sound good to me but it will have to be organised in the next few weeks as it sells out quickly. I find this sit good for info.

There's always the Classic Le Mans. Has been on my do list for ages.

http://www.lemansclassic.com/en/s01_home/s01p01_home.php

Proper cars with distributors, carbs and ruddy great straight sixes where you pour the petrol in from a jerry can while smoking a pipe. None of that diseasel nonsense either. ;)

It has to be said, the unique thing about Le Mans is watching it at night. There is no experience like watching the headlights of an LMP accelerate out of Tertre Rouge towards you, up through 5 gears, over the crest (at this point, if it's a Merc, they take off ::)) and up another gear before a quick glow on the brake disks, round the chicane and back on the gas.  8-) You really appreciate how fast they are at night. :D

If you've got camping sorted you can just turn up, TBH. Might be worth booking parking but have turned up on impulse before and been fine.

Camping? I like this place. http://www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com/. A 15 minute drive from the track but proper facilities where you can get away from the track and chill by the pool if you want. And a bar that closes when you fall over with the hottest barmaids... <cough!> Anyway, yes, we should go. Meet you at Portsmouth in 45 minutes? ;)

Not interested in Titsup TV and I don't beleive in using locked down kit.

I got Ondodgy as it was £3 per month and worked with MY TV not a locked down box.

Also the sat box I have now would put any Murdoch box to shame.

I went last year to Lemans and I am really missing it this year. If anyone is serious about this then I'll find out the name of the site my friend uses. They have dedicated showers, cooked grub and a private tent area.

You have to go for the drivers parade though.

I do agree that the derv's sound pathetic when they zoom past. The saving grace was the Corvettes as they went past  :D

I do want to do the classic as I think that will be something else  :y
