It all depends on your speed whether they intend to prosecute you. I've always believed it was 10% +2mph. So if you went through a 30 zone at under 35 you'd be ok. I've never tired it, and never been caught by a speed camers. But without being too rude, how fast do you think you were going?

Can anyone confirm whether the 10% plus 2mph is correct?
i checked as i was passing: 90 on the speedo, 82 on the tomtom usually 80mph on the satnav is OK - like i said - i'm an idiot  :(

BJ, I say this with all the love and respect that I can muster but why not just keep to the speed limit?

Of course my comments could simply be the result of advancing years or prescription medication rather than concern for the traffic regulations:-/

Zulu, I'm surprised at you! It must be the medication. The speed limits are as arbitrary as the vast majority of our laws which are borne from the thighs of bureaucratic harridans, having been fertilised by the sons of the Devil himself. >:(

That said, I don't want to get any points on my licence, so advice taken. :y

Indeed, go out and spread your wild oats on a Saturday night, but remember to pray for crop failure on Sunday morning. ;)

Sammy (god rest him) started life in Sandy Row and finished his days up the Donegal Rd. ;) :).......a loveable rogue would be a good description. When my Da was in the B specials he spent many a night chasing his brother in law Sammy in some stolen car or other. ::)
He would go out of his way to do anyone a good turn though. ;)
I could fill pages with the exploits he got up to :-X

you might be lucky, could have been out of film! Older ones that take shot of rear number plate and require fair distance are film based, so could be lucky!

If it was one that captures the front, then thats a digi one and your not going to be in luck

These little descrepencies the rozzers give you vary from force to force. some may give 10% + 2 others 8% + 2 etc.

I got cought twice in one week, and two weeks before that taking me to 9 points in a month :o All of these were by stealth/mobile units and not fixed cameras. All the stealth/mobile ones are digital now so the chances of 'no film' I would say are pretty much zero. Some of the static gatso's etc still use film and one may be lucky enough to catch one that's full of other speeders.

Since my influx of tickets I bought a Snooper.

Did the camera flash twice??  :-?

I was in London a few yrs back & went through an orange traffic light when the camera only flashed once & never heard from the police  :y

U say u where doing approx 82mph when if memory serves me right its a single carriage lane road & the speed limit is 60mph - even a dual carriage way is 70mph so in a word or two ....... you are f**ked  :o :o
