Dispatches.......How the banks won.....Channel 4.

It seems that even after the collapse of the Banks......nothing much has changed.

The banks  are still the same  selfish.....self-serving parasites...Dismissive of government and the  manufacturing industry.... :-/ :-/.

Apparently, the Yorkshire Ripper is now entitled to Parole. He NEVER was sentenced to a wholetime life tariff, which if he was, would be of no use anyways as the ECoHR ruled wholetime life tariffs are illegal in Europe.
Just cannot see any Home Secretary signing his release papers.....
....Can you?
I just found the following on the case.......

.....On 17 February 2009, it was reported that Sutcliffe was "fit to leave Broadmoor". If the Ministry of Justice agrees with the doctors' verdict, he will be sent to a medium-secure unit where he could be allowed out on short release for rehabilitation. On 23 March 2010, Secretary of State for Justice Jack Straw was questioned by Julie Kirkbride, Conservative MP for Bromsgrove, in the House of Commons. Kirkbride was seeking reassurance for one of her constituents, a victim of Sutcliffe, that he would remain in prison. Straw responded, stating that whilst the matter of Sutcliffe's release was a parole board matter, "that all the evidence that I have seen on this case, and it's a great deal, suggests to me that there are no circumstances in which this man will be released"
His application for a minimum term to be set (offering the possibility of parole after that date if it is thought safe to release him) will be heard by the High Court of Justice on 16 July 2010.

Makes me wonder.

ever tighter regulation, a cap on bonuses and an end to the myth that they're the masters of the universe - i'm the emperor of the universe and i certainly don't remember recruiting any masters :y
now before you say we'd lose the top bankers....well a) that never happens and b) if every country agreed to limits then they'd have nowhere to go for more money or even c) let them - theres plenty could do the job on a fraction of the salaries.....and maybe someone less blinded by greed is better at the controls than the grasping  see you next tuesdays that ply their murky trade at the moment   ::)
