The top Ten worst jobs to do on an Omega?
« on: 10 June 2010, 23:19:51 »

Which are the jobs you would rather have someone else do for you?

1. Keeping the 2.5 rocker cover gasket in place when fitting to nearside .

2. Top bolt on Alternator for 2.5

3. Bottom bolt on nearside Wishbone on 2.5

I know there are many more!

Fitting an unmarked cambelt to a 2.6 with a non-adjustable pulley.

Without Kevin Woods' help, I'd be in a Home for the Bewildered by now.  ;)  ;D

Autobox change was he first major job I did on my old Mig. I took it out by myself  with the aid of a trolley jack but it fell of the jack. It fell on my hand and I have a 3 inch scar to show for it. ::)

the actual jobs I don't mind doing ...... it's wading through previous bodges that annoys me. Especially on anything that's been in Police service.

On a new police car, I pretty much immediately book a week-long "ex-piggery" event with it.

worst bodges :-

broken dual vertical air intake ducting
incorrectly-routed pipework in the vee
and my personal favourite, incorrectly-routed crank position sensor wiring

dont mind anything to be honest except one, the pigginbg top bolt on the starter on 2.5td when your underneath it just having heaved the box into position, after a clutch change,
there is just no way to do it from under the car, in fact its not even putting the bolt in its holding the bolt so you can get the nut on!!!! always found it necassary to have an assitant for this stupid job except when i superglued the nut to the starter!!

unlucky alf
