Vuvuzelas - Good or Bad? (World Cup)
« on: 14 June 2010, 17:56:18 »

Vuvuzelas are the horns played by spectators in the stands at matches (and apparently from dawn to dusk too!!

Personally I think they are a bit much. I cannot understand why the sound engineers can't drop the background level to commentator level. Mind you it is the same bunch of idiot sound engineers that manage the deafening sound effects and background racket that prevents us older folk "hearing" the actors words on films. (Any Russel Crowe film)  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Maddening, especially as my son insists on watching every game. >:( ::)...........the reason I stopped going to bike racing was all the prats with air horns, drove me mental,I was close to murdering an ankle biter at Brands who stood just behind me and gave his a blast level with my right ear, thought my eardrum had burst. ::)

they are right pain, and bl00dy awful, i hate the argument they are 'part of the culture'

Sounds like 30,000's bee's constantly hanging around, it would be ok if it was just for a few mins here and there, or after a goal, but its a constant drone, i will be watching all (limited few i think!) England games on mute!

Its to do with the donation of a couple of pounds a month, as per the numerous TV ads, to assist the financial blight that is the hunger of Africa.

The narrow minded view is that such donations, rather than purchase much needed food and medical supplies, buys a bloomin great horn and the right to blow it continually, whilst learning the Rolf Harris diggerey doo recirculating breathing technique!
