...........came through a very tough qualification group (Slovakia, N. Ireland, Czech Republic, Poland and San Morino). They finished 2nd and had a play-off against Russia, lost the first leg 2-1 and still qualified (winning 1-0 and going through on away goals) so they're a tough side who are very difficult to break down.....exactly like USA and Algeria  :o

If Slovenia needed a win I'd be confident England would see them off - but they don't  :(

On the plus side - I've been wrong on the last two games  :y



as a side issue, the economy would take a big hit if England exit early.....something we can't afford right now - I reckon a few million quid, ahem, "left" in a paper bag in the Slovenia dressing room would be money well spent  :y

Slovenia is not a great team, but that is their main advantage cause everyone underestimates them.
They have spiriit I must admitt that.

But then you're right, I doubt England would be cheering on the Scots in the football (if they were good enough to qualify :o) ;D ;D ;D

We know we are rubbish  ;D ;D ;D ;D  ... England ( or more like the media ) think its a god given right that you are going to win ... they should have put the cup in a box and posted it to England before the games even started .... Sky News think its headline news that the team are training  :-? :-?
The media blow it all out of proportion then slaughter the team and or manager when they dont win .... its very entertaining to listen to the post mortems  ;D ;D ;D ;D

TBH, I'm not really a footie fan and haven't gone out of my way to see the matches so far ::) If England get through to the knockouts I will watch them if I'm around but still wont go out of my way

It's also impressive that Rob Green has equalled Gerrard in the scoring front for England in this years competition.

Rumour has it that Fabio Capello is playing Buzz Lightyear and Woody up front to give Shrek and Donkey a rest  ;D

I thought that I was doing rather well - thanks to Banjax - of being able decipher this new found language that explains the nuances of modern-day soccer/football.

I'm afraid to say HJD, that this one has gone right over my head ;D ;D :-/

There's only two teams I would want to beat Scotland, thats England and Wales (Dads Welsh) anyone else I would want Scotland to win. But then i'm not narrow minded :P ;D
