Cheesed off .:(
« on: 25 June 2010, 16:12:20 »

Am now well and truly cheesed off. :(

Been without water since 0630 this morning. Just got back from a pub car-park having picked up bottled water.

Jobsworth initially refused to give me more than 1 pack..... saying that was the allowance per person.

I pointed out in "strong" terms that a) there are 2 of us.. as in most households and b) there are 6 OAP households in the street who have no transport - did he want a signed and sworn declaration from them that I was collecting for them .. and would he like me to get reciepts ??

Seems he "didn't like my attitude".. but then got all concerned as I stood in front of him and started dialling ....... when he heard me ask for the "senior supervisor" he suddenly relented and even helped me put 14 slabs in the car ...

We now have drinking water at least, first 2 litre bottle didn't touch the sides !! but no idea when I can have a shower...

About 6 "loo flushes" left in the outside water barrel at a guess .. :( darned thing was only 1/2 full as I've been using it to water the greenhouse recently .. :(

yours .. hot and smelly

There's a thought. Does your pikey palace not have a large water tank you could fill up for a shower?

Bit of RTV round the door and you could turn the whole thing into a giant water tanker. :-X

One of the things most Brits take for granted is unlimited and never ending drinking water on tap. Mind you you pay through the nose for it.

Try living in a hot country where water is an issue. You soon learn to have a buffer supply. We have some English neighbours who exist without mains water at all. They budget for 1000 litres only a WEEK and have two horses!!

I`m presently in a dire water situation; months of drought hereabouts (with unusual blistering-heat in these recent weeks) has dried up my water-well.....I have only 200 litres in above-ground storage and then that`s 'it'. :'(

Bottled water, trips to friends for the 'odd' shower and £7. a load at the laundrette (and £12 in petrol to get there)....not to mention my now wilted veg. and flower plants.:(

I thought global warming would mean 'wetter' Summers? :-/

A colleague from a 'hot-but-civilised' country always employed the 'flush for solids not for liquids' method of water preservation.

Didn't do her any harm - she thrived, in fact. 8-) 8-) :y
