A lot of traders do this Mike, they know how to hide little problems in the paint work with shadows, poor light and rainy days when taking thier picks.
When I was first interested in miggys I went and had a couple of test drives, the dealer gave me the keys and sent a mechanic to accompany me. first was a 3.0 saloon elite and he had just been telling me how fast he had been down this particular road in an Impretza the week before, i asked if we could "test drive" the car properly and was told to go for it. Seems he wasnt as good a driver as he thought he was, the elite was a good 15mph quicker.
Then took a TD estate out, think that was an elite also. this time put it roond it's paces on the twisties then into an empty induestial estate to see what the handling and pickup from low speeds was like.
Both cars were well presented, out in the open, clean and valeted, but seems they get thrapped eveytime they are used.

Then went to annother loacal (Big name dealer) Omega elite TD again, not leather though. Car parked under cover and one of the rear wheel arches parked by a girder canopy support so you could not see round it.
Dicks had surface rust and the battery was flat, no big deal, car was cleanish but felt there was something wrong with it.
Test drive, had to sit as a passenger, sales guydrove, would give it any sports mode usage and refused to go above 40 or take me down any fast roads, got back to thier site and he tried to hide the car away again, asked him to leave it in the middle and out in the open for me to have a good look.
Wheel arch had been damaged, allthough it was repaired there was overspray in the wheel arch and it hadnt been undersealed, car was slightly dusty, from rubbed down filler and over all needed fettling.
The excuse was, we do all the jobs on a car when we have a buyer. :-/
Out of the 2 dealers I would have gone back to the 1st one, mote open and honest, and checked the cars out to a check list they devised ,
