having being turned down by the"warm front" for any help what so ever ( no loft, no cavity walls)

i have decided to insulate the house myself.

ceilings insulated dropped 100mm and insulated with 200mm of celotex/kingspan.

walls internally insulated with "sf19" .

done 3 rooms so far, on a room basis, 7 degree difference in winter,

just wondering what the maths figures would be when the other room and landing is done.

with vat on the rise (others follow) its got to be worth it in the long run?

This is internal? do you then have to plaster over it or just paper or paint??
Had our walls cavity filled some years ago, not sure if it made much of a difference, our loft is insulated, old skool stuff but then boarded over, so much crap in there anyway no heat could escape.... snow stays on the roof anyway....

all internal. concrete flat roof property. removed existing ceilings,"u" shaped void filled with cellotex, fitted 100X50mm beams, packed with 100mm cellotex/kingspan.

if you have a lof/roof then an easy upgrade.

ceilings plasterboarded and cheap emulsion for now till money for a plasterer.

25mm lath, sp19 or equivelent, lath and plasterboard/plaster.

60mm room size reduction.

We have been going to do this for 10 years, all have polystyrene tiles on, just the thought of all the mess....

I know..... 30' house with 60's renovation, work done to update the house but the ceilings remain except the bathroom and kitchen....
It's not so easy getting them off

Insulated plaster board then.

Nightmare.

Those who say old properties are better built are talking out of their.....

pic 3. sf19 equivilent of 275mm of rockwool for 60mm.

a bit better than insulated plaster board of the same thickness.

(hopefully the lightbulb will be the only heat required??)
