Tax advice anyone?

i think i may be due a tax refund but aint 100% sure,i'll ring HMRC later but just wondered if any OOFers are familiar with tax that could perhaps tell me if i'm right or wrong?

it all depends if they are going to tell you, have you had a letter in the last few months about state pension, if you owe anthing on it tax may get paid towards that, also depends on what the tax retern is for. but should have a letter to say you are getting one, can take up to 5 years as they like to get the interests on it for them self's....

all started with a cock up with my wages this month. colleague said my tax was high as we do the same job/hours so i checked HMRC website.
used the tax calculator thingy with info from my p60,and it said i was due a refund as i had overpaid. rang the number today and this was confirmed. was told it will take around 4 weeks but i will get a refund,and my tax code will be changed so i pay the correct amount every month. :y

You should get the refund in your next pay packet or the one after depending on when your payroll is run. Sounds like they got your tax code wrong. Seems an odd time of year to change it though - have you recently had a change of salary (e.g promotion?)
