First off, a quick bit of background.

About six months after I moved into my (rented) house some nice people moved into the house next door and began distributing drugs on a rather large basis. After a year or so of this, and having had their door smashed down twice by masked raiders, they decided to move on. Brilliant

A couple of months later some new people moved in opposite and almost straight away started where the others left off. Within two weeks they'd had their windows stoved in but they carried on nontheless.

Well last week the police men came with 'The Enforcer' and smashed their way in. No idea what they found but suffice to say 24 hrs later they were both back living there and continuing to sell their gear.

Now for the fun bit, when I got home tonight my wife took me upstairs to talk to me. It turns out an aquaintance of my 16 year old daughter who knows the scum over the road has been told to tell me to watch my back as they're going to 'get' me. They only bloody blame me for ringing the police which I swear I never did!!!

The last thing I want is some druggy scum with a grudge after me, god knows what they'll do!!!!

My wife went round to lay it to them straight and the scummy woman denied all knowledge of the grudge (which she would I suppose). Just to add, she did this before I got home from work.

I've just spent the night looking for somewhere new to live as I cant risk my children getting caught up in this.

I'll be honest, im absolutely pooing myself at the moment (and I really dont care if anyone thinks im a big poof :-/). Why cant these people just be humanely destroyed, they're no use to anyone for anything and they bring untold misery wherever they go.

Not good... I would suggest you give the Police a call and ask them to increase patrols :-/

These type of people like to keep themselves as unknown to the Police as possible.  I'm sure they are pretty aware that 'if' they decided to give you a slap, the first thing you would do is report it to the Police.

I dont want to upset you, but is it not possible that your Daughter's associate has fabricated a story so to get your Daughter 'on-side'?  A kind of "Do this and your Dad will be ok"??

I'd be inclined to visit the local police station and make your fears known.  The neighbours wouldn't have to know anything about it.

I hope it works out for you. Obviously your priority is to protect your family. Maybe you could could speak with the neighbours to get a guage of their mindset and stress again to them you have no interest in what they get up to and that you are not a grass and that you're just interested in putting you're feet up at the end of the day. You could then gauge the response.

If you move they might think you actually were a grass. Sounds like someone is stirring to deflect the blame away from themselves. Do you have an idea who grassed on them?

I suppose the safety of your family must be of primary importance Squealy but I would have been inclined to establish whether or not your daughter’s friend was in possession of factual information - certainly before approaching the alleged offenders (which in many cases isn't a good idea).

As it stands you may have to inform the police of the alleged threat to substantiate your request for a removal to a different address - if it's a local authority house.

In my experience you are unlikely to be able to have a reasoned discussion with the neighbour, but got to be worth a try...

As others have said you need to contact the Police, also if they live in a LA House you must speak with them, this will all be necessary to move them or to get a move yourself.

If you seriously feel threatened then get on to your local housing homeless section and demand a place in a hostel / refuge as you need to flee your present home, this will better be supported if the police can confirm a potential threat, particularly if you have younger children.....

Many years ago (80's) when I got to wed the wife we moved into our first home, rented to us by my employer (govt) all was fine for first six-eight months then down the road on a nice green area some caravans turned up and things started going missing. A few of the local homemakers went and asked if the nice people would move on. The answer was no. The very next night one of the van had a fire. Thank god not one person was hurt, but the following morning NO CARAVAN's. Life was bliss again. Just a story you understand. But this is not the answer.

I know that my Local Authority housing department take a VERY dim view of any behaviour which could be deemed anti-social. If you have PCSO contact then they should be able to get in touch with housing (thus not you direct  ), and they then send someone round to tell them to desist...or lose their housing. Quite effective, so I am led to believe.

I'd be inclined to avoid official approaches, just try to grab the guy quietly and say you don't give a fk what he does in private but you're not happy that someone is calling you a grass.

I have a drug user (not dealer) who lives opposite me and we quickly established that I don't care what he did/does so long as it doesn't affect me, we exchange greetings but no more and the close is very quiet.

Assuming the rest of the neigbourhood are not druggie scum type - I agree with Broomies Mate on the highlighted point. I would be  inclined to approach the drug dealer first and explain this situation and point the finger at the daughter's friend for shit-stirring and make it known that as long as nothing happens status quo reigns
