He does have to pay £195 deposit when he collects the car.
Just been on DVLA website looking for a nice number for him, seen a nice one there for £399, see if my family will chip in towards it, but I somehow doubt it.
Have heard from a few people over the years that have been very happy, heard a couple of niggles though that may be worth checking out. Insurance - when they have the car in for servicing, they check it over with a fine toothed comb for dents , marks and scratches, they do the work at the time as this is where they make some money out of the deal, something , but cant remember exactly what was about the excess on the insurance, if they do work every time it goes in you have to stump up the excess, they will not do all the jobs at the end of the 3 years.
They impose a maximum mileage per year - or used to at least, but tour Dad from what you may may well never exceed it.
Private plate, be carefull, you would need written permission of them to change it, and as it is never actually your car they may try to class the plate as thiers if ever thier was a situation with the car and it had to be replaced for example.

You are mistaken Scruntie, no problem with a private plate. Mileage is 20k a year so ample, I have done 38k in a Citroen C4 Grand picasso, sadly this goes back in 3 weeks.
I worked out that this has cost me £8.5k including the deposit, after 3 years I have nothing to show for it. Just had it fully serviced as I may extend the lease and was thinking about buying it but they want £9,300 for it and they will have only paid about £12k for it. Also I was told by a used car dealer who buys motability cars that he would only expect to pay about £6k for it and retail around £10500.......
