You need the one with the rollback roof. Weld a scaffold pole either side and use it as a wheelbarrow ;D

Well, I've got two and a strimmer, so that's more than half a 2CV engine. ;)

Kevin

EDIT: Oh, and a generator.

EDIT: Oh, and a generator.

More power in one cylinder of my car than a whole 2CV.

Last engine of that size I used was over 80bhp

Daft posting on OOF site as 2CV and Omega are opposite ends of the spectrum..... ;D ;D

I have had loads of cars and I just bonded with the 2CVs.  My first experience of one was being sat in a beer garden looking at one across a car park and debating loudly as to who in their right minds would own up to owning THAT?

I was finally persuaded to go for a spin in it (as per Albs post!) and laughed so much it hurt.  A week later I had one.

I drove my last one to Prague via Geneva, Alps, Rome, Venice, Austria then back through Germany to Brussels and then Amsterdam.  I got home and some daft old bat pulled into the side of it and wrote it off.  I was physically sick and cried for weeks.  I still miss it now.

I miss the events and social side-one meeting in Italy in 2003 had 10,000 people and was like Glastonbury, with museum exhibits, rare display cars, huge market, auto jumble, live music, convoys, drive-outs (raids), local foods, bonfires, barbecues, cheap beer-once you bought a souvenir 2CVGB world meet flagon, a big beer was 1 Euro.
There were free technical help areas and some guys even did chassis swaps with free expert help!  It was a complete blast.

2CVGB is the only other forum as good as OOF, too-but they do charge £25 per year; you do get a really good monthly magazine though.  Like OOF everyone mucks in and helps others, which is great.

I have never had more motoring fun than in a 2CV-they are brilliant once you understand their quirks, and they are so practical and comfortable-and cheap to run.  My last one cost £900, the same car would now be £3000+ and prices are rising fast.

The next World Meet is in France next July-I'm planning to be there if I find the right 2CV first; preferably a 1987 green Bamboo or 70s/80s in a bright colour.

Takes all sorts......
My only experience of a 2CV was on a racetrack as a passenger, amazed how far over they will go before they flip........only 50 or so mph, but felt like twice that, with a LOONY driver who just didn't want to be anywhere but first place, and if he killed a few others along the way, so what..........

great fun, but you have to be a bit mad to drive one, that gearchange................

I must admit I once found myself sitting in one of these thinking what a total hoot it would be to own one.  :D

Not enough power to do much damage to yourself or your license. Not enough power to justify driving it at anything other than balls out everywhere you go. I think I would hate it and love it at the same time.  :D
