You could argue its all good training - hunting and killing a moving target ;)
But not a shot was fired by the 'authorities' AFAIK.  Not good maths for the bean-counters, and I'm sure a lot of PC people will be saying it's a waste of money.  Saves going to other people's countries and shooting them! ;D

It was obvious he was going to die, the police would never have allowed him to live.

Those more cynical might say that, due to the fact he was never going to be arrested, that the suicide story is the only story the police can release...

I'm sorry, I just don't accept that. >:(

I'm not sure what you are implying, but with the level of public scrutiny such as it is in these times, if the guy had surrendered the police would most certainly have "let him live".

Are you saying that the police would have unlawfully disposed of him?  Can you justify that?

Not happy. :( :( :(

What made me laugh last nite whilst watchin it live on sky news, was the statement the chief made to the press, first of all he said moat had recieved a "gun shot" wound, next he slips up n says "has been shot" i think he realised what he said right afta lookin at his face, n when u listen to the gunshot that they replayed a few times, u can hear at least 2 shots and they sounded suspiciously like rifle shots not shotgun shots....makes u wonder what actually happened dont it???!

At a briefing in Rothbury on Saturday, Northumbria Police Temporary Chief Constable Sue Sim said officers had been "striving to persuade" Moat to give himself up peacefully.

She said: "During this time officers discharged Taser. However this did not prevent his death."

She said no gunshots were fired by police.

Tasers deliver powerful electric shocks of up to 50,000 volts which are intended to be a "less lethal" alternative to conventional firearms and are meant to temporarily paralyse a target.

I am sure the tazer would have made him think about giving up peacefully!

'Some experts have questioned whether the Tasers may have caused involuntary muscle spasms'.
Fair enough he has done very, very wrong but in my opinion something doesnt seem right here.

a troubled man obviously.
reading some of the reports regarding his relationship with his parents, it makes you think what will become of his three children and how they will be affected?
