OOF - how's it funded?
« on: 20 July 2010, 20:23:47 »

Are there any running costs, what are they and who pays?

Just being nosy realised but realised that we get all the FOC  :y

As things stand currently, that is not anything that members need to worry about :y

TB must have slipped up. You need to send the treasurer (me) £150 immediately. PM sent.

Has the club ever thought of opening a JUSTGIVING site so that if a member does good deeds for another then they can contribute into a good cause.

I am a member of BOFA4x4 and we raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over the last 3 years we have raised approx £20,000 pa, from just organising events and selling things and putting a small percentage into the funds.
And another club I am in raises for Air Ambulance.

Just a thought it could be a good incentive for people to contribute and donate and raise awareness of the club.

We just put the link in our signatures so others can give if they require, also if you are a UK tax payer you can also elect GIFTAID and get the government to put 22% in of your donation aswell ;-)

Our page so far from March :- http://www.justgiving.com/teambofa4x4-2011

Or the main Site :- http://www.justgiving.com/

Might be a noble enough idea S but surely it would place additional burdens on the site administrators who seem to give a fair amount of their free time to run things as they are.
