my dad had a 74 ventora with the 3.3 straight six,quite a car in its day with bags of torque from what was I beleive was the same engine that the much bigger cresta and viscount used

Tell me if I get this tight or wrong.

We had a Vauxhall Victor 101, not sure id it was an 1800 or not.

I think the 101 had a 1600 engine same as fitted in the bedford ca van,I liked them when I was young ,looked like a mini cresta :y

Bottom one seems to resemble ours, amd IIRC it was in a purple colour.  Best thing I remember about it was that it was replaced for a triumph 2000 (with overdrive)

zulu 's bottom picture is the first generation ventora,wallowy thing on the road,second generation(FE) was much nicer to drive.
I remember after I had passed my test and had a morris 1100 my dad let me loose in the FE ventora,seemed really quick then but was'nt by todays standards

My first car @ 17 was a 101 victor (top picture) dark green with a light green roof. Most of them were 3 on the tree but mine was a 4 on the floor although it was only a Deluxe not the VX490.
    Yes they were all 1600's. Guy. :y

Top piccy is the Victor 101 (FC) and bottom one looks like the next model, the FD.
Had one of each, then followed with the FE....lovely cars
in their day.
I remember the cambelt going on the FD...just put another one on and away we went... :y  Not like nowadays  :(

Just remembered an incident with my FE.......
We went to Windsor Safari Park when it first opened...in those days there were no warning notices up, and any car except convertibles were allowed through.  ;)
However, my FE had a vinyl roof as the FD in the piccy....and the ******* monkeys got their claws in and ripped a 6" strip off (including the roof paint).
It was after that that vinyl roof cars were then advised not to enter. ;D
Not sure whether they issued a ban later, I never went back !!!!
