Left handed thread ;)

I put a screw driver through the bolt heads to hold it and a large adjustable on the fan nut.

There isn't an allen key in the centre so LH thread it is, thanks Henry and Pete :y

I'm going to the pub now ;D

[edit]Edit to add:- New waterpump coming parcel farce ND service from the motor factors SWMBO works for £17.49 + vat + postage ;)[/edit]

Glad you're getting sorted mate - nothing worse than breaking down in the wilds with no kit or spares - especially if you know how to fix the problem.  Its good to see local help appearing  ;)

Now about my problems . . . . . . . .  :)

Hope you get going again I missed the post yesterday I might of been able to get new pump at dingbro in Glasgow

I have 2 Genuine Vauxhall water pumps sitting here and I'm off work this week and a big tool box, I can easily take a run up.

Brilliant to read, and well done to all who helped.

My daughter, having upgraded to an i-Phone4, has given me her 'old' i-Phone 3 ( Funny how now I'm a certain age my kids pass their old tecno stuff 'down' to me), and it is great for emergencies like this, although I haven't cause like Lee did to use it.

Sorry about the topic drift Mods. :y

Echoed completely. An immense thanks to everyone including Jim and MF, Jim waited while I fitted the new pump (metal impeller, old one was plastic) and kindly took all of MF's tools back as they are practically neighbours.

The old pump... well, where do I start? Plastic impeller still fully intact apart from a few scuffs caused by the rear bearing colapsing causing the water to escape round the shaft (no rude comments you lot!).

So we're stopping here tonight and moving further north tomorrow. So anyone on the west shore of Loch Ness fancies a beer then give me shout (number on page 1 of this thread) ;) :y

Noted ;)

We'll be camping near Dumnadrochit just off the A82. We stayed there last year and loved it and we'll have the electric hook up too, been lost without a beer fridge so far ;D ;D
