Finally got in touch with an old friend who is an osteopath and had an initial consultation and workover this morning.

Verdict?

1. Appalling posture
2. Neck is a disaster area
3. Lower back: plain grim

 
Looking at an expensive course of treatment, though I'd pay anything to feel fully mobile again.

Apparently much of it is down to crouching over a keyboard. No surprise there, then.

you should get one of those "Kneeling Chairs" - very good posture for your back - ask your mate about them - i get back problems because i have a long back and I'm a bit of a salad dodger
