You pay a charge to use a debit card, that is why if you use a PAYPAL account there is no charge.
Using a Debit card for less than £5.00 invokes a £1.00 administration / handling fee when buying items on Ebay

If you have a Paypal account then they know it is a gaurnteed
payment and no charge will be incured even down to £0.01

I fell for that one 6 years ago when I started using Ebay, was only a week before I got Paypal.

There are loads of sites as well you can use Paypal, including gifting people money instantly to there paypal accounts..

Eg. If a member on here sell you something and they are going to post it out and they have a paypal account you can then send them the money instantly to there account by just putting in there email address into the Paypal payment box ;-)

I Buy on e-bay...I signed up for a PayPal account...costs nothing, and only ever pay the item price, with or without P&P. No hidden charges.
I only ever use the credit card with paypal, I never use a cash account or bank account with them, which they do ask you to sign up to, which makes you 'confirmed'.
Never had any problems so far and it makes paying a doddle  :y

Not to buy.

The seller covers all the paypal charges.

You buy for £3 inc free post from china then £3 is all you pay.  :y

Just nipped on ebay.

1st item I found with free post was this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-VECTRA-OMEGA-SIGNUM-REMOTE-ALARM-KEY-FOB-CASE-/160466021943?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM

It's a buy it now.

I click buy it now

then go to paypal and pay £8.99

Thats all - then wait for goods to arrive - test - if all is well then leave possitive feed back.
