But i didn't have a pay pal account at the time,i set it up after.So the quid is for using my credit card is that right in your opinion,also on my statement.it says the seller had 3.65 but there is still a pound short i know my balance i check every day :-?

Not sure then.  as you say, maybe an extre £1 transaction chrge.
