Asda - Online Shopping
« on: 20 August 2010, 00:45:39 »

I like thier online shopping, this time round there seems to be a glitch, every time I add an item it then sends me to a page and asks me to put my postcode.

So I email the problem and tell them I have cleared the history and cookies etc.

They email me back.

Thanks for your email.

I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with the website.

Please forward us the following information and we can escalate the matter to our Technical team.

* Are you using a PC, Laptop or Apple Mackintosh computer?

* What is your Browser name?

* Who is your Internet Service Provider?

* Which version of Windows are you using?

* Is it a Dial up or Broadband connection?

* Do you have an Anti Virus program loaded?

Nothing at all wrong with the questions it's just that I cant be bothered to reply anymore.

Why?

Because by todays standards website designers build all this in for monitoring purposes and can easily attch it to customer service requests.

Will try tescos or sainsburrys now. ::)

I couldn't be fussed to muck around with Asda Skruntie, if they cannot get their systems to be customer friendly they don't deserve your business! ::) ::) ::)

Yep, I would certainly try either Sainsbury's or .........I cannot believe I am saying this.....Tesco, as I know how important home delivery is to you 8-) 8-) ;)

yes..

when you are shopping most of them want you to enable some controls (activex) so they can collect as much information about you..

and some virus scanners disable those controls even if you let them "enable" from the options..

The one and only time I've ever ordered shopping online (Tesco, IIRC) was for a lads long weekend away. Ordered the shopping to arrive just after us at our destination so it avoided faffing about on the way.

So, you can imagine the shopping list. £400 worth of alcohol plus £50 worth of lard based comestibles for the barbecue.

One of the bottles of wine was out of stock so they "selected an alternative". I accepted this and just put it all away in the 'fridge. Only a day later did I notice the bottle of alcohol free white wine. :o

Given that they were unloading the beer with a sack truck I wonder what made them decide we would appreciate such a thing? Wasn't even good enough to clean the toilets with.

Of course, the cynic in me wondered if they were just offloading the cr@p that nobody else wanted... ::)

Kevin

They usually just send bods around with trolleys with an electronic shopping list, so he/she most likey grabbed one next to it without reading the label.

Going to give each of them a bash, as its a pain having to make about 5/6 trips to the car to unload shopping.
