Lunar 'Moonlight'
« on: 01 September 2010, 23:46:24 »

Sorry guys, another Caravan thread.

I have been offered a 4birth Lunar Moonlight for pennies.  It is a 1990 model, with cassette bog retro-fitted.  The van is immaculate inside and out.  Damp has just started to get in through the front, but I'm a dab hand with Sikoflex and Seam Sealer..... After looking at the 'van, I can tell that these products would certainly solve the problem.  The seller seems to think a whole world of work needs doing.

This would be my first van, and although I like the thought of caravaning, I'm not sure enough to go out and spend a few grand on my first van.

It's just me and Mrs BM, no kids, so space isn't really an issue.

Does anyone have any experience with this make/model/age of van, and if so, is there anything to look out for in particular?

To give you an idea, I've been offered it for less than two full tanks of fuel!  :y

Is your car an estate? Please say it is... It should not be legally allowed to put something as ugly as a caravan onto something as beautiful as an Omega saloon...

I'd never drive anything as hideous as an Estate.  It is a Saloon.

Dont panic though, the 'van wont be towed any further than my house to get fixed, then to a campsite where it will be pitched all year round.  :y

After a year of use, I'll possibly buy something reasonable to replace it or dismiss caravaning forever.  Either way, thats an awesome suggestion!  TopGear could destroy a caravan in ways I couldn't even dream about!

You scabby bleeder!! Whats wrong with estates.............

I'll have your caravan, and then you won't have to be "ashamed" to tow it with the lovely Pikey hook with a removeable ball you have fitted on your car for towing......!!
