Just a quick one.....are the existing torx bolts long enough to accomodate the blank?

Yes they are long enough as the plate is half the thickness of the valve flange. What I don't know is if the bolts are too long!

Are the holes in the maifold "blind", and what depth are they?

Or put a thick washeror two on the bolt.

I'd love one of these, but unfortunately that type won't fit my engine :(

Any chance of making one for the newer style EGR that is bolted on to an extension pipe thing? There are three torx bolts holding it onto the plenum. Mine is currently blanked off with an IRN-BRU can, and I'm pretty sure it's not airtight cos I've got a lumpy idle.

I don't have a picture here just now but can take one if you need it. I'm sure someone has a spare one or two of these lying around :)

Cheers!

Ok, so PM is definitely working. All who would llike these plates PM your address and I'll bang them out asap.

I can get as many of these as is needed, as the program is saved at work, so there's no panic

Remember that you will need to keep the EGR valve to prevent error codes appearing...so it would be best to sandwich the plate between the EGR valve and the mounting flange.

as long as it can be cut out of flat steel,

Let me have a dimensioned sketch and it shouldn't be to hard.

Cool, cheers. Does anyone have one of these type of EGRs lying around off the car? It would be pretty easy to sketch that way, unfortunately I can't remove mine cos one of the bottom bolts won't budge - bent the teeth on a Torx socket trying! The ones on the manifold are no bother, hence the IRN-BRU can ;)

Just thinking, maybe I can just get a gasket to use as the outline and either trace that or send you one.

OK I was planning on buying a replacement gasket for mine to try and cure the poor idle so I'll pick up two instead and send you one. Probably next week I expect... will keep you posted.

So, if the valve is removed and blanked, do you get any fault codes/lights.
also will the car still get through the MOT?
Yes, you will get EML and stored code if egr unplugged electrically.
