Mark. I may be able to help you on that one, i think i have some old Whits spanners, would you also like a King Dick Whit & AF 1/2" socket set. It's complete, but the old ratchets a bit roppy?
IIRC, it has around 35-40 pieces & in its original box.

Thats very kind Pete, yes it would be very useful as I am having to put together a second set of tools for pre 1980's stuff

Glad I mentioned it.

Don't be put off by me living in another country. It will be easy enough for me to hire a box van (or two) to collect my booty inheritance. Car as well? Again going to an enthusiast. :y

Would you like mine too? I have no heirs for my rather large tool collection.
I'll give them to someone when i retire :
)

Yes please! You haven't got an olive tree shaker in your collection by any chance? Mine is about tatered and probably beyond economic repair.

Aha!

Whitworth, AF, UNF, UNC, unified, there's terms I understand!!

1/4, 1/8th 16th, thou' all these youngsters can't understand what we mean!

how many times has someone said to you " its tight, needs about 5 thou' taken off it"   people look at me stupid when i say things like that in here (my workshop) they just say Doh? or what the F......

Metric is fine, and I understand it, but 0.005 of a mil just doesn't sound right to me, but 3 thou' does!
