What would you bid..
« on: 10 September 2010, 14:17:08 »

....up to the auctions for a lovely metallic blue 2001 y reg 2.2 cdx auto, 68,000 miles with a good history. Sadly no leather but good tyres and new parts aplenty.

Going through my local auction later on and I am thinking there may be a profit in it!

Will report back on the outcome later but guesses what it will go for are welcome.

Sit at the back and monitor who bids, then put tour bid in when they are done.

Ha! Did you mention Auction and Auto in the same sentence? I would very much assume it needs a new box.

2 of the Omegas I have owned have come via auction.  Both had perfect autoboxes ;)

I am happy to be proved wrong. Just don't cry 'the gearbox doesn't work' because I will then be saying 'told you so'.

I probably wouldn't go more than £700, of course bering in mind the comission that will have to be paid on top of the hammer price.
However, sometimes if I want a car...I will buy it no matter what. I bought VK03 XZB for £3000 plus comission and have spent almost £800 on it. That's how it goes sometimes. But, with something like a 'Y' CDX...I wouldn't spend much on it as there are plenty about.
I have bought many auto's from auction, and the only one that had an autobox issue was Y189 HKE which I had for 6 months or so and drove regularly, so wasn't overly bothered.

Having changed quite a few Autoboxes on Omegas, £100 is about right but many hours of hard work also.

£700 tops. Not all autos are knackered because they're at auction, many autos I've got have been from auction, 99% of them have been fine :y

Not all of us in the trade are con artists.

Well Del boy was nearest but I managed to snag it for £600... first impressions are good with a nice smooth drive and a surprising amount of urge. Electrics all work as does the cruise, battery brand new as is the exhaust.

Warning showing up for pads which surprises me as the discs look pretty new but pads are buttons anyway and the flap for the CD is missing but I think this is fairly common.

Full inspection to be carried out tomorrow, I'm sure there will be a surprise somewhere to keep me busy!

 colour Z20H mean anything ?
