How to annoy you local vx dealer service manager
« on: 30 April 2007, 20:07:13 »

Did this, this morning with my neighbours veccyC.

He needed new front disks and pads and oil/filter change.

Walked into vx dealer with neighbour. And went to parts dept.
Asked for disk/pad kit .... 5 litres of fully synth (he prefers it) and oil filter.

Produced my TC card and prompty saved him about £30  :y

Took parts over to Masterfit desk and asked them to fit the pads/disks and do an oil/filter change.

Service Manager went a funny shade.....saying we couldnt do that....i asked why not??
I said I just bought these parts from your garage......so its no different if you get them from stores is it?  ;D He started going on about 2 sets of invoices.....yeah rite  ;D

Anyway he couldnt refuse......so he had to accept the fact that id just done him out of paying full price for the parts  ;D

So he did do the work.....oil/filter change + changing the pads and disks and neighbour got charged £60 for labour.....which i thought was pretty good  :y

Heh heh TD 1 Vx dealer 0  :D

Strange...

I think it was you who suggested some time ago that I'll ask my Vx dealer if they'll fit the parts I bought with TC during service... I did ask them, and they were very helpful... the parts manager said no problem, just tell the receptionist (sorry, service advisor) to bill the parts on TC... and so they did...

Think i suggested making sure you get 'masterfit' price.
I'm pretty sure service managers get comission on parts supplied during service, hence why he didnt like fitting the parts i bought on TC

TD, you have been using your TC card in a manner which could be described as unfair, stretching to the limit Vx's goodwill to the extent that your behaviour if bordering on the unethical side. I have only one thing to say to you:

Well done mate!  :y

good ya stuck it to them, the dipsh@ts.
cos of the nature of my job i cant book an appointment to go to the stealers at a specific time so popped up to them at various stages in the afternoons to get my key programmed into the ecu in the car. its only a 10 minute job so i thought on one of the occassions i may get it done. this afternoon was the ninth occassion that they were fully booked up, and as the servicing woman said "nine times out of ten we may have been able to fit you in", to which my reply was -no you havnt!!
a quick look into the servicing bay made me realise they were busy, busy standing around and nattering and looking at someones holiday pictures. >:( >:(
TB fancy a trip up to kings lynn??
