Just walk away and ignore him Del.

If he's the 'clever mother' you say he is, then he'll get his just desserts soon enough - someone else will probably do it anyway, saving you the effort.

Be the better man here - don't lower yourself to his level.
Not easy, granted - but you'll feel better in the long run mate.

Remember: What goes around comes around. Guaranteed! ;)

So you beat the s**t out of him, sounds like he'll go straight to the police and do you like a kipper..

Easier said than done I know but you're both grown adults and have a responsibility to all around you including your son to behave as such, so ignore the name-calling and show your brother up for the childish tosser that he is, you don't have to react by name-calling back. If you saw two adults behaving like this on the street, what would you think?

If it really is a problem, you don't have to resort to violence these days, things are not the same as they used to be. Get him locked up for the night for harrassment, you've got more to lose than him I reckon

he's a nobody with no job and no respect, he has nothing to lose, even the car isnt his

he wants you to initiate it all so that when the cops are involved, you'll lose out big time

easier said than done but dont rise to him, dont even humour him

he'll trip himself up one day

Also bear in mind that if you have an accident and are deemed to be involved in a 'road rage' incident, it's most likely you'll find yourself not covered.

Del Boy you need to read back through your OP but only looking at each action that you took & intuition will tell you why this situation can't be resolved this way... this sounds very much like 2 peas in a pod! You both employ the same coping mechanisms (not good). Forget the bat, even if you have proper fight will he change? will you? what are you going to prove. What if you KO him and he cracks his head open on the pavement (seen it happen) brain damage, coma or death... Is it worth it? Pride & Ego seem to be the biggest factors in both your mind sets (no offence) Don't matter who's the hardest there's always someone harder  ;)
Let it go Del & don't bite the bait... every time he acts the goat just say "grow up" in the most condesceding tone possible and walk off. He can think what he wants, call you a p*ssy or whatever, does it matter? do you need his admiration? When you really know you can take care of yourself you've nothing to prove... 100% inner confidence, thats why they say watch out for the quiet one's  8-)

Just so you don't think I'm naive, I used to get in street fights in my early 20's and worked the doors at a travellers club, I've had my jaw broken (obviously) good left hook  ;D but never made any enemies... one reason, I never had an attitude or acted hard. Benefits of not trying to impress anyone... One friday the regulars suggest I'm not to work the following weekend, no reason given but I'm no fool. So I take the night off & 3 pickups carrying many of the community ram the doors and all the bouncers that gob off and cause trouble end up in hospital  ::)

Sounds cliche but "violence breeds violence" is always true... ALWAYS  :y

p.s. KG if you're reading this, I didn't know what was gonna go off that night, you were meant to be in the office mate. Naughty, naughty manager checking out the totty at the door... I've always had your back no matter what!

Smile nicely at him, and in a quiet voice tell him......

"your time will come, and I'm a patient man................."

then turn around and walk away a better person.

(and then when he least expects it................................)
