I was about to comment but thought better of as I have posted a picture and you havent, but your's cant be that big if you can only cpmpare and say they are bigger than the ones on a mouse mat, or are you saying your's are artifically enhanced like the one's on the mouse mat.   ::)

Joking apart I can see the ergonomic value in resting the palm of the hand on one of them. I can see the think it will reduce  strain on the carpul tunnel :y Trust me I'm a doctor ::) ;)
