People were always asking "who's the stig?" now it's "who's ben collins?"!!
Have to agree on top gear lite or "fifth gear" as it's called,too much time telling each other how great they all are and not enough reviews or tests...
As for miss Butler-Henderson,she should have her own show,the little squeal she emits when driving the nuts off something is pure porn!!!
And finally,yes,needell is a grade A,pure bred tool with the personality of a used tea bag!!

Needell is undoubtedly a dick, but he can drive seriously quickly.
He was good enough in his day to get a formula 1 drive, which is more than Ben Collins or any of the other testers/ presenters ever did.

He drove an Ensign iirc so it was never really going to happen.

I remember reading an interview with him where he described the moment he realised he was never going to be good enough to reach the top level in F1.
H e was driving around Brands Hatch trying to qualify and thought he was really pushing hard, As he entered one of the fast corners out the back of the circuit, a Ferrari slid up the inside of him, doing about 40mph more than he was , engine screaming for mercy, 2 wheels on the grass, full opposite lock etc. He assumed he was in the middle of someone elses accident, but it was Gilles Villeneuve on one of his typical laps. As the corner straightened out Villeneuve wound of the lock, kept his right foot planted, and disappeared of into the distance. Toff needle said he had to be honest with himself and admit that he was never going to be able to be that commited and even if he could he didnt have that level of natural talent.
Imo though, he was witnessing at close quarters, the greatest natural talent ever to sit in a racing car. The only possible exception being Senna.

Barrichello remains the only F1 driver quicker than Mr Collins - Lewis, Jenson, Nigel, Damon all tried and failed.......so I'd say he's a pretty good driver, despite what some OOFers seem to be saying 

Yes he knows the track, but F1 drivers take maybe 10 laps to get the most out of the track, so having driven it 1000's of times is no advantage

Jenson's best time was in the dry, as was Damons, as was Nigels, Lewis might have a shout with a dry track I'll give you that

Seems the deal with mansell was that he was allowed to practice the track for the morning, so could have got it in the end.

as for this Collins what has he done anyway? I aint ever heard of him before his name came out of the bag...... 

He spent around four years serving in the British Army, specifically with 23 SAS
Which puts him on a good footing with me
