We tend to use those cheapo travellodge/premier inn type places. Booked early, its only a couple of quid a night more expensive than a campsite.

They take care of my turds, make the bed, have a nice bath so I can wallow for an hour (often whilst browsing OOF ::)), room to move, and usually a pub next door!

And I don't have to waste fuel and time pulling a kebab shop around.

No brainer for me...

i never get the 'freedom' argument!? I use mixture of B&B / Camping with tent on bike trips. I turn up on the bike, dump gear, go out for a wonder, come back later after a meal, and watch TV or something. What exactly are you stopped from doing?  :-/

The doors are often locked by say 11PM, but thats fair enough.

As others have mentioned, walking to get my own water supply, doing my own cooking, emptying my own excrement is not my idea of holiday fun.

Not to mention caravans are environmentally unfriendly, not only does it cost you more in fuel, it costs every bugger behind you more in fuel too.

Don't get me wrong, I can see the enjoyment of camping, particularly in groups or with friends. But do it properly, in a tent :y

If you desire comfort, the cost of getting a kebab van to site, cost of camping, and the work involved, hotels/lodges/guesthouses work out around the same. And without the nasty bits.

seriously in case you try to use those kebap shops in antalya, fethiye,ku[ch351]adas[ch305], within few hours you will be roasted ;D ;D  ;D  unless you use a home type air condition which will have an expensive bill of electricity (electric is very expensive here and fuel also)

I'm fat and unfit. I can't go anywhere hot without A/C  :-[

I even have to have the A/C on in the bedroom in the summer...

You got one then Andy, a couple of years ago at York you where so far under the Beastie i thought you were pinching mine. Best of both worlds! Tunnie you have a point regarding the carbon footprint involved in towing but if you were that worried you'd sell your Mig & buy a Micra!!! :y
