BBC Oxford region
« on: 01 November 2010, 19:09:04 »

Apart from the fact that we have had London News all day (admittedly more relevent than Southampton News - that bunch of inbreds have never been more than 4 miles from the coast), what the hell is wrong with the Video/Audio sync on BBC1 on Freeview platform. Its bloody miles out.

Well, they appear to have fixed it now. It was pretty annoying - really difficult to watch (it was only dross TV, so wasn't really watching it)

Oh, but I really enoy watching 'South Today' - Especially all the news about things happening at least an hours drive away, and the sailing forecast is crucial to my daily planning  ::)
Had London news aswell today, glad it wasn't just me.
The only relevant news in the 5 minute BBC Oxford news segment.

Noticed something similar on sky on one of the channels, news related, an interview with a video of an interview running silently on a screen in shot, took a good 30 seconds to work out who was talking and who was being talked about.

One of my gripes re digital tv and so many channels is no standardisation, video sync, volume levels, picture quality, all vary...and then the volume level of the ads Is different again, constantly messing with sound.

There is a setting on the sky box for sound delay if you have an amp etc to get the sync right. It's usable on movies and proper channels with band width, but lesser channels are a fair way out to the video.  >:(

Sky don't have the engineers needed to comprehend the issue...
