Firefox woes
« on: 04 November 2010, 13:16:27 »

I have been using Firefox for ages. Last week, it automatically updated itself and, since then, it has become incredibly slow and has also been fallen over on numerous occasions.

The problem is not with sites like OOF, which loads as before, but rather with commercial sites, where FF spends hours waiting for things like "ad.uk.doubleclick.net" to load.  >:(

Has anyone else experienced difficulties?  :-?

Block all the ad sites, then. Adblock plus and NoScript plugins required, IMHO.

.......Stopped using FF at beginning of year - prefer Chrome now.
It would crash with out explanation, freeze or hang immobile......

Use IE8 other wise.

My son still uses FF for online games and that doesn't seem to be a problem...........

Have to use IE7 at work.........

Thanks, Kevin. :y

I've installed those and there does seem to some improvement, but still not as fast as it was before the upgrade, I think.

As others I use Chrome which I have found to be fastest of the lot so far. I also use Firefox from time to time but IE8 is a real PIA as far as I'm concerned

I am trying out Firefox 4.0 Beta and the problems of slow loading have disappeared.

Indeed, it seems to be fast!  :y
