Do what I do for the MOT:
Go through her for all the obvious MOT failure points and 'tart her up' with a good-clean (inside and out), click-together all the seatbelts (as if in use) and leave the old MOT displayed on the front passenger seat ready for the tester.......oh! I also leave a bone in the car for the MOT tester`s guide-dog! ;D

Good luck for the test....hopefully you`ll soon be back on the road. :y

When I were a lad and had mini's that were held together with filler, the day before the MOT I would go ralliyng down muddy tracks, figured the tester wouldn't delve too deep  ;D

Don't much fancy rallying the old miggy round muddy tracks  ;D but i know what you mean i have done 1 or 2 dirty tricks to pass an MOT this was years back thou wouldn't do it now, the only thing im going to do is pull the main fuse for a min to clear the engine management light round the corner from the MOT place  :y

TBH, when I was testing I would be thorough whatever state the car was in. I was more surprised if I found problems on a cleaner car though.

As an aside, the tester does have the right to refuse to examine the vehicle if it is too dirty! I've done it once and, without a word of a lie, the mud on the underside of the 4x4 in question was over an inch thick :o :o
