Had to get my GS in for its annual service, rang around a few beemer dealers, costs varied considerably. BMW Oxford Quoted 175-225 quid, BMW Cotswold wanted £100 all in! Guess where i went

Fairly nippy outside this morning, was glad of my heated grips, but had a good run over there.
Nicked borrowed a 60 plate 2010 GS-Adventure, which is a 'new model' - its had an updated engine and few other bits and bobs:

Bit of a crap colour! - Over-all I was bit disappointed with it (hope PaulW is not reading this

)
Initially I liked the new engine, its a lot smoother at low rpm, which is great for town work, picks up better too, its also defiantly more 'raspy' than mine, popped and banged little more when easing off, and blipping the throttle from idle it sounded really good 8-)
Trouble is at the cruise rpm of 3-4k, it was too loud and got annoying, I was thinking of stainless can for mine, but not any more! In comparison my standard 56 plate GS was a lot,
lot smoother and quieter. Seat on mine was much more comfy too! I did prefer the GSA screen though its got few extra bits which really help, its also tad higher. Lots of people complain its too high and get lowering kits, i could still easily flat foot it.
As BMW bike dealers go, it was top nouch, free tea and coffee (proper tea not machine made stuff!) Fridge full of soft drinks and snacks, Wifi all free. Don't see that in any Vauxhall dealer! BMW should have charged me a tenner for insurance thingy when i borrowed the GSA, luckily they forgot!

But at 15k brand new

or 12k for decent second hand one, think i will keep my standard GS for now!
