A personal tribute on this day.
« on: 11 November 2010, 10:59:04 »

At this hour, on this day, in this month I remember with humility all those fine men and women with whom I had the privilege and honour of serving during some very dangerous and uncertain times:

To those who are no longer present;

To those who still suffer as a result of their service;

To those families who have been denied the comfort of their loved ones;

To those who care for we who remain;

I give thanks and offer prayer.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

work in a supermarket and we always stand in silence as a mark of respect and all work-inc checkouts-is rightly suspended. Majority of customers also stop and respect the custom-even those with small children, but without fail there are always the few who continue to shop and not in a muted way either. This, I am convinced, is not a thought out breach of the custom but either ignorance or flagrant disrespect to those who fought.  >:(

I was driving but the radio went quiet. These guys & girls sign up & go wherever they're sent & do whatever they have to do whether they believe in it or not..they do it regardless out of a sense of duty.
