It's really started, hasn't it? Prince Gormless and his commoner bint all afternoon on the telly. Glad I've got sky, there's always the Chinese news channel. ;D

Maybe they'll do one of those cool computer generated re-enactments for the Chinese medial ;D

Think of the alternative to a Royal family

President Blair?  :o :o :o :o

What a marvellous, dignified and reliable national-figurehead our Queen Elisabeth II has been; her lifetime of service to her role is to be admired and appreciated. :y

.....but, as for the rest of the family and the extended hanger`s-on; decency prevents me from commenting! ::)

Time to invest in Madame La Guillotine's services maybe? It worked for the Surrender monkeys.

If they did'nt want the media hype, the pomp & ceremony & only wanted to get married because they love eachother then they would have done so quietly & announced it afterwards. The hand wringing members of the population could buy the mugs (no pun intended), plates & tea towels & not have to stump up for thier frivolities.
Millions of people are really excited by this. The other 90% of us really could'nt care less. ::)

Yes, it's frustrating that it's been such a quiet news day that there has been little other than the Royal Wedding but...

... Much against the (apparent) majority here, I have a lot of respect for Wills... He serves the country (as have/do all the males) in a vital role. Search and Rescue may well save your life one day! Sunday he payed a surprise visit to Camp Bastion for the service, a huge morale booster for the troops in such troubled times.

Harry (not my favourite Royal) even saw active duty for a short time, until someone let slip that he was there ::)

As for the hangers on... Zara Phillips and the likes. All families have them :-X ::)

Sorry Guy (and guys and girls) but although the Royals do get a huge sum of the Taxpayers money they:

a) Pay out a huge sum in maintenance of the buildings in their possession, which are of national importance as they generate huge revenue in the surrounding areas from tourism

b) Actually work very hard

c) Are quite human if/when you meet them... Even the Queen herself :y

Agreed... And you can guarantee that Di will be brought up all over again ::) FFS, she's dead... Get over it!

It will be a huge morale booster for the majority of the country though, especially if we get an extra public holiday :y :y

Yes, it was a terrible shame and perhaps there is a conspiracy behind it but let it go ;)

The day of the funeral was a good day to be on the road though... I was moving all my Mum's stuff as she was changing house :y :y

I hope, for her sake, that Kate is allowed to become whatever she does, and not expected to be another Di, after all, that is Will's job, in a round about way... :)

I can hardly believe I am even debating this subject :o :o :o just been chatting to swmbo about it... ::) ::)
