Too many sensors

I reckon there are....not just on Omegas but newish cars in general.

Just come back from Heathrow in my VeccyC

On the way up, cruise control set to 70mph....the warning display puts up 'low oil' symbol.

Now I know I checked the level yesterday and it was on the max mark.....so im starting to think...........a)wheres a 1L of oil gone in less than 100miles  :o and b) will it get to Heathrow without the engine going bang!

Theres nothing like this to happen to raise stress levels....

Got to Heathrow.....dropped passenger off and ran round to McD's and popped the bonnet.

Oil level is fine.....still on max mark!! Blooming sensor! Restarting and the warning didnt re-appear!

Carnt people these days just lift the bonnet and check levels every week.....or is that too difficult  :-/

So treated myself to a Mcbreakfast and coffee (reminds must write a letter of complaint.....that McD's didnt open till 6.10am .....10 mins late!   >:(  ;D )

I often think there are too many sensors..

But when I drive a old car... I learn to appreciate the meega when I get back in it!!

i go with the belt and braces approach.

Respect that the M.I.D and various Dash warning lights may tell me - ie that theres no issue normally..... but weekly I check my coolant, oil, washer fluid, tyres and so on.

Agree - some duff info coming from them at times  :-/

I am REALLY going to appreciate the Omega when I get it back.

Currently in a hellishly awful (not mechanically bad, just awful to drive) Nissan Micra while the Coupe is having cam belt, balancer belt, water pump etc done.

My god this makes you realise just how good the Omega is!  >:(

SWMBO has nicked the MV6.... :-/

The omega is indeed a great car. When I went in for the parts for the cam cover gasket change, the parts guy said "Oh, you've got an omega. I'd love one of those" When I asked him why he didn't have one he said "Couldn't afford to run it, they break a lot and the parts are stupidly expensive"

Some advert from a guy who could get his parts for next to nothing and probably get it serviced/repaired on the cheap :o
